Welcome, I offer coaching and training to individuals or small groups in navigation and hiking including expedition skills. I also offer coaching and leadership in Open Canoes on both rivers and lakes.

About

I started in the outdoors like a lot of people with my local Scout Group. I love being outside, particularly with my dogs when I can. It’s a real humbling feeling to see the power and size of Mother Nature either in a remote hilltop or on a raging river. Like the saying memories are made outside as I do find that’s where most memorable experiences are made.

I worked in engineering for most of my working life and managed my outdoor activities mainly as a hobby but after my sons started working as outdoor activity instructors and a number of my ex scouts either work in the outdoors or have undertaken extreme challenges I started to realise what a positive impact I have had on some peoples lives and I wanted to try to encourage more people into the outdoors.
